Grace Luise  Zwillman nee Grace Luise Mims Petti

1953-2021

Grace Petti Zwillman, resident of New Vernon and Spring Lake, New Jersey went to be with the Lord on October 15, 2021. Born in Staten Island, New York on February 3, 1953, Grace was the daughter of Bob and Doris Mims, and was one of three siblings.  She attended both Fairleigh Dickinson University and Wagner College where she graduated with a bachelor’s and master’s in education. Grace went on to teach in the New York City public school system in elementary and junior high schools. Later, Grace moved to Short Hills, New Jersey where she obtained her broker’s license and founded Realty 33 with her husband Carmine Petti. Grace and Carmine moved to New Vernon, New Jersey where they shared their passion for remodeling their home and playing tennis. She was devoted to their many English pointers that she adored. Grace was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in New Vernon for many years. After Carmine’s passing, Grace later married Evan Zwillman and enjoyed their many long conversations, cruises, and weekends in Spring Lake. She spent happy times with her stepchildren and step grandchildren who will miss their “Gigi”. Grace will never be forgotten for her exceeding generosity, kindness, intelligence, and love of family and friends.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Doris Mims, and her former husband, Carmine Petti. Grace is survived by her husband, Evan Zwillman and his two sons, and their families; her sister, Robin Mindnich and brother-in-law Peter Mindnich, and their two daughters; and sister Lynn O’Connor and brother-in-law Robert O’Connor, and their children and grandchildren.

Words cannot express how deeply Grace will be missed. The family wishes to thank all who supported Grace in these difficult months with their prayers, visits, and phone calls.

A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at First Presbyterian Church of New Vernon, 2 Lees Hill Rd., New Vernon, N.J. with an inurnment to follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Morristown Medical Center
