~~Agnes M. “Sibby” Franklin, 85, of Chatham (most recently Los Angeles, CA), passed away on January 5, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Church, 234 Southern Blvd in Chatham on Monday, January 9th at 11:30am. Interment will follow at gate of Heaven Cemetery. Born and raised in the Maspeth section of Queens, the daughter of Walter and Mary Sullivan, Sibby had also lived in Long Island, South Orange and Chatham before moving to the Brentwood section of Los Angeles, CA last year. She worked for many years as a supervisor with New York Telephone in New York City. Sibby enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, Jeopardy, sewing and tea. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and will be fondly remembered for her unwavering love and devotion to her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Sibby was the beloved wife of the late Russell Franklin. She was the loving mother of Patricia Franklin and Donald Franklin and his wife Roseann. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Sean, Ryan and Taylor and her dear brother Richard Sullivan. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sibby’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
