Agnes T. Mulvaney

Agnes T. Mulvaney, 95, of Chatham, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014.

The former Agnes Tonero was born in Newark, N.J. where she started her career in the family dry goods business, and later worked for RCA until her marriage to Michael J. Mulvaney. The couple moved to Chatham in 1947 where they raised a family of 4 children, James, John, Mary Ann, and Michael. She returned to work in 1960 as an assistant librarian and thereafter, until 1983, as secretary to the principal of Chatham Township High School. Rather than retire, in 1983, she became head book keeper for McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter, LLP where she was affectionately known to all as “Mrs. M”. She was a founding and active parishioner of Corpus Christi Parish in Chatham Township, N.J.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 10am at Corpus Christi Church, 234 Southern Boulevard in Chatham Township. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. There will be a visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the William A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Chatham. Predeceased by her husband and six of her eight siblings, she is survived by her children, her sister, Elizabeth Magno, 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 12 nieces and nephews and some 70 great nieces and nephews.
