Andre M. Solomine

Andre M. Solomine, of Whippany, passed away peacefully at Morristown Medical Center with his wife by his side on July 8, 2022.  He was 80 years young.

Born in Newark to the late Alfred and Mary O. Solomine, Andre grew up in Union and resided in Maplewood for 34 years with his wife and children. He graduated from Union High School in 1960 and then attended Cosmetology school going on to own 3 hair salons and eventually teaching Cosmetology.

Andre was a member of the YMCA in Cedar Knolls, coach of the NJ Youth Street Hockey team in 1980 and had been a proud friend of Bill W. since 1985.

He loved watching ice hockey, tennis, and Formula 1 racing. He also loved music, especially playing and performing when he was younger. Spending time with his family meant everything to him, especially his grandchildren.

Andre and Joanne spent many of their later years traveling they world. They visited countless countries on 6 continents, including his dream trip to Egypt and Jordan.

Andre was the beloved husband and soulmate for 60 years to Joanne.  He was the loving father of Patricia (Tricia) Salese and her husband Vincent, Peter, and his wife Lori. He was the devoted grandpa of Victoria and Peter Johnny. He is also survived by his brothers, Robert and Fred Solomine and his sister-in-law, Peggy Snell. Also, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Memorial visitation will be held at Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Road, Whippany on Friday, July 15 from 2:00-5:00 p.m.  A Catholic Prayer service will begin at 5:00.
