Anne Macenczak died peacefully on March 10, 2016 in Overlook Hospital.

She was a resident of Summit for over 50 years, and a summer resident of Sea Girt for the same period. Born in Jenners, Pennsylvania on July 5, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Macenczak and the step-daughter of Mary Macenczak. She is survived by two brothers, John and Sam Macenczak and half-brother Andrew. Anne was predeceased by her sister Helen Murphy and step-sister Mary Pelesky. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Anne moved to New Jersey and for 78 years shared her life with her adopted family headed at the time by the late Wilfred and Leoba Dempsey. She came to assist with the raising of their growing family and remained as an integral and beloved member of their family for the rest of her life.

Anne is also survived by her adopted family, Dolly and Floyd Donahue and their daughter Mary Lee Trousdale, Jerry Dempsey, Robert Dempsey, and by Mary and Bartholomew Sheehan, Jr. and their children, Bartholomew III, Jeremiah and Matthew Sheehan.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 306 Morris Avenue, Summit on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Teresa’s Cemetery. There will be an opportunity prior to the mass to greet the family at 9:45 a.m.
