Anne Siedenburg Noser, of Chatham Township, passed away at her home on September 17, 2024.
Born in New York City to the late Reinhard and Anne Tierney Siedenburg, Anne grew up in Connecticut, Florida, and Ohio. She graduated from the Walnut Hill Preparatory School in 1953 and then attended Mount Holyoke College, receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in1957. Following graduation, she worked at Norcross Printing in Boston, heading the layout team, before moving to New York City and working for Spiral Press. She also traveled frequently with friends — Mexico, Europe and Greece — before her marriage. She married Eugene A. Noser, Jr. on her birthday in 1964. The couple settled in New York and had their first son, James Garrett. They moved to Philadelphia, where son, Paul Brent was born before moving to Chatham in 1967, where they welcomed their third son, Thomas Edward.
Anne had a four decade career as a community volunteer, choir member, and avid golfer. She served as president of the League of Women Voters, Mount Holyoke Alumni Association, the Chatham Library Foundation, and the Town and Garden Club of Chatham. She also led the Women’s Association for Morristown Medical Center. She taught CCD at Corpus Christi Church in Chatham Township, where she was a parishioner and a reliably mischievous and fun loving member of the church choir’s alto section.
Anne and her family were long-time members of Fairmount Country Club in Chatham where she enjoyed golf and having a drink by the pool. She was a member of both the Eighteen Holers, the Nine Holers, and the Sundowners, and even though she had two holes-in-one in her career, her favorite part of golf was socializing with the other women in the clubhouse after the round was over. She also loved all games and every type of play, including playing with Groovy Girls dolls on the basement floor and Scrabble in the sunroom with her grandchildren.
She was the beloved wife of Eugene, the loving mother of James Garrett Noser (Sherry) of Chatham, NJ, Paul Brent Noser (Laura) of Iselin, NJ, and Thomas Edward Noser (Anna) of Nashville, TN; the devoted grandmother of Alexis Marie Polak, Mary Frances Noser, Joseph Mosby Noser, Edward Lawrence Noser, and Charles Garrett Noser, and great grandmother of Harper Marie Cooley.
