Anthony J. Bagnato

Anthony J. Bagnato, 75, of Springfield, passed away on September 10, 2020.  A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. James the Apostle Church, 45 S. Springfield Ave. in Springfield on Monday, September 21st at 11am.  Memorial visiting hours at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave., will be on Sunday, from 3pm to 7pm.

Born and raised in Newark, the son of Frank and Rose (Errico) Bagnato, Tony had also lived in Hoboken for many years before moving to Springfield in 1992.  He was the owner of Marc Anthony Beauty Salon in Union for 25 years and later owned and operated Dynasty Limousine in Hoboken.  Currently he was the Vehicle Maintenance Manager at Interstate Drywall Corp. in Lyndhurst. Tony was a member of the Rolls Royce Club and Hog Motorcycle club.  A member of St. James Church, he also sang in the St. Ann’s Choir in Hoboken many years ago.  Tony loved, owned and showed classic cars and motorcycles and was awarded many trophies over the years.  No matter where he went or lived he accumulated many friends and was loved by everyone.  He was a great husband, father, and grandfather.  To him, it was always family first.

Tony was the beloved husband of 49 years to Ann.  He was the loving father of Chenielle Carlsson and her husband Bjorn and Chenoa Lipski and her husband Richard.  He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Rich Anthony Lipski, Isak Carlsson and Angelica Lipski, and his brother Carmen Bagnato and his wife Judy.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Tony’s memory may be made to either the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516 or Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point, Tampa, FL  33607.
