Antonio D. Bastos, 72, of Union, New Jersey passed away on Monday, January 11, 2022 at Overlook Hospital.
Antonio was born on January 16, 1949 in Cacia-Aveiro, Portugal. He was the son of the late Mr. Antonio Rodrigues Bastos and Analina De Almeida. He immigrated to the United States in 1984 to build a life for his family.
He worked as a Laborer for Heavy and General Laborer’s Local 472, Newark, NJ for many years. In his spare time, Antonio loved music and enjoyed dancing.
Antonio was survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Ana Bastos. He was the loving father of Rosa Maciel and husband Jose, Antonio J. Bastos and wife Silvia Giron, Jose (Joe) M. Bastos and wife Nelia and Sandra Correia and husband Mario and cherished grandfather of Stephanie, Anthony, Kelly, Ashley, Sydney and Samantha. In addition, he was survived by his siblings Analina Cruz, Jacinto Cruz, Rosa Valente and Diolinda Matos.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Avenue, Union, NJ 07083. A prayer service will be noon in the funeral home. An entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
