The Bradley Guarantee
Our staff is courteous and sympathetic. Our facilities are comfortable and spotless. Our services are handled with dignity and respect. If you are not completely satisfied with any of our professional services or facilities, you will not be charged for that particular service.
Embalming
Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.
Our Licensed Practitioners of Mortuary Science use “Best Management Practices” and “Universal Precautions” as required by the blood-borne Pathogens Regulations of OSHA and the State Board of Mortuary Science of the State of New Jersey.
Dressing, casketing and cosmetizing services are also available.
Caskets and Burial Vaults
We offer a full range of casket options including wood, metal, concrete and eco-friendly material, to suit a variety of budgets. If you find the same casket for less elsewhere, we will match the price in Morris and Union Counties.
Graveside Service
Personalized graveside services include use of equipment and staff for supervision, attendance and accompaniment of the remains to the local cemetery. Burials at sea can also be accommodated.
Immediate Burials
We offer a lower-cost package for an immediate burial which includes basic services of the funeral director and staff, the local (within 20 miles) transfer of the remains to the funeral home, sheltering of the remains for up to 48 hours, the obtaining of necessary permits and authorizations, sanitary care and preparation of remains for identification, use of facilities and staff for private visitation or identification (up to one hour) prior to burial, and local transportation to the cemetery.
What is a Green Burial?
A Green Burial is a form of disposition which allows the deceased individual to recycle back to the earth without chemical preservation, metal caskets, chemically treated wood caskets, and or outer burial vaults.
The body is prepared with natural or organic products, and only natural cosmetics are applied. The family is also able to join in the ritual washing of the deceased.
A burial shroud, a long piece of cloth usually constructed of 100% cotton or linen, surrounds the deceased. The body can then be placed in a casket constructed of biodegradable materials including wood, bamboo, or willow, excluding metal parts and fasteners.
The family may help lower the deceased into the ground at the cemetery, and they are also encouraged to be involved with services.
Can I arrange a Green Burial at a Bradley Funeral Home?
Yes, Bradley & Son Funeral Homes are certified by the Green Burial Council. Please speak with one of our caring funeral professionals who will be happy to help you with your request.
Each family has the opportunity to have visitation at the funeral home, at their place of worship, deceased’s home, or the graveside. The deceased will be shrouded and placed in a green casket or temporary biodegradable alternate container during calling hours or funeral service.
Any type of service may be rendered by clergy, family/friends, or our in-house celebrants, Austin Bremner and Jack Cuffari. Every aspect of a Celebrant Service celebrates your loved one’s lifestyle, using a more personalized and humanistic touch.
