Barbara Ann McDevitt, 71, of Chatham, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on June 15, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church, 85 Washington Ave. in Chatham on Tuesday, June 22nd at 10:30am. Interment is private. Memorial visiting hours at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St. in Chatham will be on Monday, June 21st from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.
Born and raised in Jersey City, the daughter of Leo and Anne (Toner) McDevitt, Barbara attended both St. Aloysius and Henry Snyder High Schools, graduating in 1968. She had also lived in Manhattan for many years before moving to Chatham in 1996. Barbara worked for over 30 years in the Financial and Investment Banking industry at Salomon Brothers and Credit Suisse until her retirement in 2008. She enjoyed reading and travel and above all, spoiling her 8 nieces and nephews, Brian, Lauren, Lesly, Mark, Ryan, Eric, Kyle and Dylan.
Barbara was the beloved wife of Michael J. Hauser. She is also survived by her cherished brothers, Michael F. McDevitt (Vivian), James J. McDevitt (Mitchell Price), Gary E. McDevitt (Helen) and Scott G. McDevitt (Joann) as well as many loving relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara’s memory may be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of NJ.
