Mt. Arlington, NJ – Barbara Shoudy (nee Lewis), born February 14, 1929, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2022 with family by her side. Originally from Newark, NJ she attended Barringer High School, then Berkeley Sec. School in East Orange. She lived in Hanover Twp most of her life, with her final residence at Mt. Arlington Senior Living where she was treated with care. She met her husband while working at Mutual Benefit Life Insurance in Newark. They were one of the first families to move into Countrywood. She was a member of Hildale Park Presbyterian Church, the Hanover Twp Seniors, and the Hanover Twp Mixed Bowling League. She spent years bowling, playing poker slots, Scrabble, Rummikub, and cards. Barbara had a quirky sense of humor and loved corny jokes.  She cooked delicious meals and desserts and sewed clothes and curtains back in the day. She loved the Jersey shore, especially Ocean Grove and the Auditorium. Most of all she loved time with her family and friends (Bagel Ladies!). She worked at various part time jobs once her kids were older, last working at Deuchler Opticians in Florham Park.

Predeceased by her parents, Harold and Marion Lewis, grandparents, Wilmont and Elizabeth Fairchild, brother Clifford Fairchild Lewis, and her husband Bill Shoudy. She is survived by her four children Diane (Jeff) Fund, Glenn (Judy) Shoudy, Drusilla (Donald) Gaffney, David (Elaine) Shoudy. Remembered as Nanny to her 9 grandchildren Lauren Fund, Dan (Katy) Fund, Allison (Justin) Fund Droegemueller, Mike (Tanya) Shoudy, Spenser Shoudy, Shannon Gaffney (Dom), Erin Gaffney, Jack Shoudy (Emily), Casey Shoudy, and 4 great grandchildren Travis and Elizabeth Shoudy, Lyla Fund, and Finn Droegemueller.
