Robert C. Shawger, 72, of Summit, passed away on April 29, 2019. Bob was born in Summit, where he was a longtime resident. A graduate of Summit High School in 1964, Bob graduated from Pace University and then went on the earn a Master’s degree in Business from Northwestern University. Bob was an Executive for over 20 years with Citibank in New York, followed by 8 years with Aegis Insurance Services, Inc. in East Rutherford before retiring. Bob was a former member of Canoe Brook Country Club, and a president of the Summit Soccer Club. Bob was an avid sports fan, who loved cheering on his children and grandchildren, and their friends. He was an advocate for youth sports and would always be found on the sidelines rooting for local athletes.

Bob was predeceased by his sister, Kathie S. Lester. He is survived by his children Robert C. Shawger, Jr., and his wife Karen, and Libbie Feldner and her husband Randy; grandchildren Madeline Feldner, Merritt Feldner and Patrick Shawger. Bob is also survived by his sister Teresa Lee, nieces Brighid Lee-Egan, Dr. Sarah Lester and nephew James Lester

 A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 9:30am at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 306 Morris Avenue in Summit. Interment will follow at St. Teresa’s Cemetery, Summit. There will be a visitation on Thursday from 4-7pm at the Bradley Brough & Dangler Funeral Home, 299 Morris Avenue, Summit. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
