Bruce A. Thomson, 56, of Long Valley (formerly of Chatham), passed away at Overlook Medical Center on November 11th, after a long illness.
Born in Ontario Canada, Bruce spent the majority of his childhood and young adult life in Summit, NJ, where he graduated Summit High School in 1974. He lived and raised his family in Chatham for 19 years before moving to Long Valley. Bruce received a BS in Accounting from Bentley College in Waltham, MA and later an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck. He began his career in accounting at Kemper Insurance in Summit before moving into the telecommunications industry, where he spent the majority of his career. Initially with AT&T in Murray Hill, Bruce moved to Lucent Technologies in Parsippany, and concluded his career with Avaya Inc. in Basking Ridge. Bruce served as District Manager of marketing, pricing, and analysis, with Avaya, from 2001-2004.
Bruce was the beloved husband of 32 years to Elisabeth. He was the loving father of Michael, Marc, and Jennifer. Bruce is also survived by his devoted parents, Alexander and Joan Thomson, and dear brother, Alexander J. Thomson.
