Carlos “Darling” Cesar Favaro, 54, of Union, NJ passed away surrounded by loved ones, on July 15th, 2022. He was born in Cambé, Brazil, and moved to the United States at 19 before finally settling in Union New Jersey for 30 years. Carlos graduated from The College of Agricultural Studies in Ponta Grossa Brazil in 1987. He was the owner of Golden Tropics, a company he and his wife Alicja Favaro started in 1996 and was a recipient of the 2021 New Jersey Small Business Success Award. His company continues to stand as an example of hard work and dedication persevering.
Carlos was a man of many talents, and always made sure those around him were well cared for. He enjoyed gardening, weekend barbeques, cooking for his loved ones, and making sure the animals that visited his backyard were always well fed. He was an expert fisherman and could spend hours talking about fishing, and even longer on the rod and reel. His love for the ocean was known by everyone in his life, and he spent many summers with family and friends enjoying fishing trips and fishing from any pier he could find, especially in the waters of Florida. Carlos also had a love for music, and always had classic rock playing. If you called his phone, the first thing you would hear is “Kashmir” by Led Zeppelin.
Carlos was predeceased by his father Devanir Favaro and his brother Marcos Favaro. Carlos is survived by his loving family. His wife Alicja Favaro, and his two sons, Alexander and Eric Favaro, New Jersey. His mother Tereza Favaro, and sister Izelda Bortoletto, along with her husband Carlos Bortuletto and two children, Bruno and Fernanda, Brazil. His mother and father in laws, Danuta and Richard Malczak, New Jersey.
As well as his best friends and brothers, Pedro Cavalari and family, Brazil, Marcos Dos Santos and wife Lucy Dos Santos and family, NJ, and Diego Cabrera and family, NJ. Along with countless aunts, uncles, and friends who were all blessed by Carlos in their lives. Visitation will be held at Bradley, Haeberle, & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave, Union, NJ 07083 from 5pm to 8pm, with a lives funeral service beginning at 8pm. Donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Morristown Hospital Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute in Carlos’ name.
