Carmel A. Nicholais, 94, of life-long resident of New Providence, New Jersey passed away on Monday, September 03, 2018 at Overlook Hospital, Summit, NJ.

Carmel was born on February 7, 1924 in Summit, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anthony and Amelia (nee D’Alessio) Tedesco.

She was a long-time parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Church, New Providence where she volunteered monthly with the clothing drive. Carmel was a member of The Connection, Summit, NJ and the New Providence Senior Citizen Club.

Carmel was predeceased by her beloved husband Angelo Nicholais. She was the loving mother of Thomas Nicholais and wife Donna and grandmother of Taylor Nicholais. She was predeceased by son, Robert Nicholais, brother, Frank Tedesco, and sister, Mildred Tedesco.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Chatham, NJ 07928. A prayer service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at St. Teresa’s Cemetery, Summit, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to New Providence Emergency Squad, 7 Academy St, New Providence, NJ 07974.
