Carmen F. Marcantonio

Carmen F. Marcantonio passed away peacefully in his home, on Thursday, December 13, 2012, just 16 days shy of his 89th birthday. On December 29, 1923, Carmen was born in Millburn, where he was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Millburn High School in 1942. He was a proud veteran of WWII and served in the US Army Air Force stationed in Europe during the war. He was an avid golfer, starting out as a caddy at age 14 at Baltusrol Golf Club. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Millburn Post, the Lions Club and the Casa Columbo. He owned and operated a construction company that built custom homes and did commercial and residential remodeling.


Carmen lived his life with enthusiasm and generosity and was devoted to his family.


He was married in 1947 to the late Inez Giusti. He is the father to three children and their spouses, Corianne and Jerry Rayburn, Francis (Chic) and Gail Marcantonio, Carl and Marianne Marcantonio. He is also survived by his sister, Susan and her husband, Jay Monroe. He is grandfather to Kristianne Farouki, Jeremy Rayburn, Carly Kennedy and Joseph Marcantonio. Four great grandchildren and a niece and nephew also survive him.
