Carmine Palumbo, 90 of Branchburg, NJ, formerly of Millburn and Springfield, passed peacefully on July 17, 2022. Born and raised in San Bartolomeo in Galdo, Italy. He served proudly in the Italian Army for two years. Carmine came to the United States in 1968 and resided in Millburn for five years. He then moved to Springfield, where he lived for fifty years and Branchburg for the last four years. He was an HVAC mechanic for AT&T\Lucent Technologies for many years, retiring many years ago. Carmine was a parishioner of St. James the Apostle Church in Springfield, the Casa Columbo Club of Millburn. He enjoyed hunting, playing soccer, and watching his favorite soccer teams Juventus and the Italian National Club. Carmine is pre-deceased by his parents, Angelo & Assunta D’Andrea Palumbo and his four siblings, Rafaele, Antonio, & Nicola Palumbo and his sister, Carmela Ricci. He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Marietta Valles Palumbo, his two sons and their spouses, Angelo & Christine Palumbo, Carlo & Eva Palumbo and four grandchildren, Brianna, Alexandra, Nicole & Anthony and his two sisters, Lucia & Concetta Palumbo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 10 am at St. James the Apostle Church, 45. South Springfield Ave. Springfield, NJ. Livestreaming will be available. Entombment Fairview Cemetery, Westfield, NJ. Visiting hours, Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Bradley Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave. Springfield, NJ.
