Carole V. Brundage

Carole Victoria Brundage, 75, of West Orange, New Jersey passed away on May 31, 2021.

She was born on August 19, 1945 in Jersey City, NJ, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry and Harriet (nee Blaszczyk) Koss.

She graduated from Marylawn High School, South Orange, NJ, earned a Bachelor’s degree from Immaculata University, East Whiteland Township, Pennsylvania and her Master’s from Seton Hall University, South Orange, NJ.

She worked as a third grade teacher at the South Mountain School in South Orange. After earning her Master’s, Carole became a Learning Disabilities Consultant planning the special education of children with disabilities in the West Orange School District. After her retirement, she was employed by the Essex Regional Educational Service Commission as a Learning Disabilities Consultant. 

A love for interior design caused Carole to pursue her interior decorator license. This talent was evident in her beautiful home and her impeccable sense of style and fashion.

A lifelong interest of Carole’s was her love of animals. She had multiple dogs calling them her “kids.” As an accomplished equestrian, Carole owned two horses in her lifetime.

She is survived by her cousin, Barbara Willis and companion, Robert Bruce Johnson.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 7, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Avenue, Springfield, NJ 07081. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel, 75 Ridgedale Ave, Cedar Knolls, NJ 07927. An interment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City, NJ. In Carole’s memory, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center.
