Carolie Wildrick

Carolie Wildrick, 86, passed away peacefully January 12, 2018, with her family by her side. Carolie was born in Orange, NJ and grew up in East Orange. She graduated from Miss Baird’s School for Girls and Lasell College in Newton MA. Carolie worked briefly as a photographer and started her own business creating story productions for children. Her real passion, however, was for her family and the loving care she provided as a homemaker.

Over the years, Carolie loved to play tennis at Chatham Fish & Game, workout at the Madison YMCA and in more recent years, train at home with Sheila and Mary. Music was of utmost importance in Carolie’s life. She often sat in on the voice lessons her late husband, Don, taught out of the home. Carolie encouraged & supported all musical endeavors of her children and served as President of the Suburban Music Study for multiple terms. She loved to entertain family and delighted in each detail down to the place settings.

Carolie was married to S Donald Wildrick, for over 40 years and they had a rare and loving partnership. They lived in Chatham and had two children, Carolie & Donald. She was predeceased by her husband and her brother, Stephen H Painter of Centennial Co.

Those left behind will miss her optimism, her loving nature & her concern for all others before herself. Even in the face of adversity, Carolie found a way to find the “lovely.” She adored being surrounded by family and friends and was happiest when we were “all together.” She is survived by Carolie & Carlton Johnson, her daughter & son-in-law; Heidi & Donald Wildrick, her son and daughter-in law, her granddaughter, Kristen; and for the past almost 7 years her loving caregiver, Ce Ce.

A celebration of Carolie’s life will be held at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 105 Mountainview Road, Warren NJ on Saturday, January 27th at 11:15 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Pilgrim Congregational Church for the Carolie & Donald Wildrick Fund for Music (Caroldon).
