Charles John McMorrow of Chatham passed away at home on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023. He was 87.
Born on March 26, 1935 in The Bronx to Isabelle and Walter McMorrow, he grew up in Bayside, NY and attended Xavier Academy in New York City. He earned his bachelor of arts degree from Fordham University. He served in the U. S. Army from 1956 to 1958.
Charles was a salesman for Oscar Heyman and Brothers, a company which designs and manufactures precious stone jewelry. He traveled all over the country servicing his accounts and retired in 2007, after 45 years with the company.
Charles and his family moved to Chatham in 1972. He was a member of Chatham Fish and Game Club and Madison Golf Club, enjoying many years of tennis, paddle and golf.
Charles is survived by his wife of 60 years, Salli Potts McMorrow, his children, Jean McKenna and her husband George and their three children George III, Leigh and Mary; and his son Matthew and his wife Rebecca and their children Daniel, Erica, Theo and Isabelle. He was predeceased by his daughter Alice and his brothers Walter and Kevin.
