Charles T. Connelly
09/24/1931 - 09/22/2023

Charles T. Connelly, aka “Charlie”, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 22, 2023. He was born on September 24, 1931 to John and Madeline Connelly; the baby of 5 brothers and 2 sisters, all of whom predeceased him. Most of his life he lived in Summit, NJ. Charlie met his wife, Millie (deceased 2020), when they were 7 years old, as she was “the girl downstairs”, and they were married November 29, 1952.  Together they raised 4 children, Charles Jr., deceased 7/23/02, Frances Rice, (Vaughn), Susan Colombo, (Dominick), and George Connelly, (Beth).  His grandchildren, Clayton Reilly, Benjamin Frazier, Marie Colombo, Rebecca Connelly, and Rachel Frazier, and great-granddaughter, Abigail, were special blessings in his life.

Before graduating from Summit High School, Charlie enlisted in the Army National Guard. After turning 18 during his senior year, he was deployed to Korea. Upon his return, he earned his Diploma in 1951 and became an apprentice with the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union. After earning his plumber’s license, he founded Charles T. Connelly Plumbing, a well-known local business.

The family would like to thank the following people and organizations for their care and compassion: the staff of Overlook Hospital, the Summit Medical Group, the Springfield First Aid Squad, the Atlantic Health Visiting Nurses, and Amada Senior Care of Cranford .
