Christopher T. Coleman, 75, of Chatham, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013, after a brief illness. Born in New York City, Chris lived in Chatham for most of his life. Chris earned his Masters degree from the Pratt Institute in New York, and worked as a freelance artist. After his retirement, he worked as a school crossing guard in Chatham. Chris loved the arts, gardening, and was an avid reader of history and current events.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 9:30am at St Teresa of Avila Church, 306 Morris Ave., Summit. Interment will follow at St. Teresa’s Cemetery, Summit. Chris is survived by his siblings and their spouses; Maura, Drs. Pat and Tweet, Brian and Catharine, Joe and Judy, the Honorable Edward M., Catherine Houston and 9 nieces and nephews, and 5 great nieces and nephews.
