Clelia Palumbo, 86, of Millburn, New Jersey passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.
Clelia was born on August 13, 1935 in San Bartolomeo in Galdo, Italy and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Attilio and Orsolina (nee LaVecchia) DePalma.
Active in the Madonna del’ Assunta at St. Rose of Lima Church, where she was a parishioner. She volunteered with the Red Cross.
Clelia was an avid cook where she was known for her homemade pasta and enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening.
She was predeceased by her husband, Donato in 2002 and her son Patsy Palumbo (2020) and wife Margaret (2020). Clelia was the loving mother of Phyllis McNany and cherished grandma of Daniel Palumbo and wife Jennifer Covino, Nancy Palumbo and Amy McNany and beloved Gigi of Scarlett and Owen Palumbo. In addition, she is survived by her sister, Assuntina Rea.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Avenue, Springfield, NJ 07081. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:15 am on Friday, March 4, 2022 at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Avenue, Short Hills, NJ. An entombment will follow in the parish mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
