Constance J. Laurino, of Short Hills, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2013. She was 91 years old.

Born in Irvington, Connie grew up in Maplewood where she lived for many decades before moving to Short Hills in 1960. When Connie was the Maid of Honor for her sister’s wedding, she met her future husband, Henry Laurino, who was the groom’s Best Man. The two were married in 1945 when Henry returned from military service in World War II. Together they enjoyed a marriage lasting almost 59 years.

Connie took great pleasure in cooking Italian food and was well known for her homemade bread and taralli, which she loved to share with her family and friends.

Above all, Connie will be remembered for her love of family. Predeceased by her parents, Maria and Natale Conti, her husband, Henry Laurino, sister, Natalie Christian, and brothers, George Conti and Michael Conti, Constance is survived by her three beloved children, Henry Laurino, Jr., of Short Hills, NJ; Robert Laurino of Short Hills, NJ; and Maria Laurino and her husband Tony Shorris of New York, NY. Also surviving are her grandson Michael Shorris and many loving nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation for Connie on Thursday, August 8, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, located at 415 Morris Avenue in Springfield, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013 at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Avenue in Short Hills, NJ.
