Daniel Nunez of Springfield, NJ, after living a long and meaningful life of 94 years, left this life in the late morning on February 3, 2024.
Daniel, who was born in Valparaiso, Chile, was primarily a family man. He cherished his wife Graciela, 4 children, Daniel, Julia, Ruth, son-in-law Noel, as well as his grandsons, Nicholas and Alan. Daniel, a watchmaker, migrated to the US in 1964 after his wife Graciela, but he always yearned to return to Chile one day. Professionally, Daniel enjoyed working with his hands fixing watches and worked in the US and in his native Chile.
Daniel loved to travel internationally and domestically. He kept himself busy woodworking and tinkering around the house. He followed his favorite Chilean soccer team, Everton. He was fun and loved to “Tango” with his wife and daughters-especially to his favorite singer, Gardel . He taught his grandsons how to fish and loved watching soccer matches with them. His nieces and nephews say that “Tio Daniel” (Guayo- qui-qui ) was their favorite uncle.
Daniel is preceded in death by his father Daniel, his beloved mother Julia, and his brother Juan. He is survived by his wife of 63 years and 4 children, 2 grandsons, his sister Gina and cousin Viviana, several nieces, and nephews. He had a special place in his heart for his extended family in Chile.
