David Renton Dunn of Chatham Township, New Jersey passed away at Autumn Lake Health Care in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey on November 28th, 2022. He was 79 years old.
Born in Orange, New Jersey to Penelope and Stewart Dunn; David grew up in Short Hills, New Jersey and graduated from Millburn High School.
After graduation, David enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Texas. There he worked as an airplane mechanic. After four years in the Air Force, he worked as a free-lance photographer, specializing in weddings and child portraits.
David was a volunteer driver for the Red Cross and supported St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center in Madison, New Jersey. He cared for all animals, especially feral cats that he fed and had neutered.
David had a love for history, motorcycles, and cars. He enjoyed the sports of windsurfing and playing tennis. David loved playing cards and meeting friends in Atlantic City and Las Vegas.
David was intuitive, kind, sensitive, caring and a good friend to those who needed help. He had a great sense of humor that made people feel at ease and was a solid, quiet person who everyone loved being around. David loved being at home and cherished his familiar routine and surroundings.
David was the beloved life-partner of almost 50 years to Connie L. Schiavoni. He was the loving brother to Sydney Dunn Reed; Stewart A. Dunn Jr.; and Penelope Dunn Alexitch. David is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
