Dennis L. Van Orden, 76, of Nazareth, PA and formerly of Hillsborough, New Jersey passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022.

Dennis was born on December 17, 1945 in Newark, New Jersey.  He was a graduate of Essex Catholic High School in Newark.  He served as a member of the Air Force National Guard from 1968 through 1974.   He began his career at the NJ Bell Telephone Company and worked in various positions for over 40 years in the telephone industry.  He retired as a Systems Engineer from Verizon Wireless.

In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening, cooking, photography, electronics, computers and listening to oldies music.  Dennis loved patriotic memorabilia and always made sure there was an American eagle within eyeshot or an American flag flying as he had a deep love for his country.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Karen Van Orden and his son, John Van Orden and wife Megan. He was the cherished grandfather of Emily, Lizzie and Jack Van Orden, beloved brother of Jacqui Costa and husband Alan, Heidi Szymanski, and Debra Ortolan and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Chatham, NJ 07928 with a prayer service beginning at 12:30 pm. An inurnment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his name to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
