Dennis Robert Conroy, 74, of Columbus, MD, passed away on June 2, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Church, 234 Southern Blvd, in Chatham on Tuesday, June 13th at 11am. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visiting hours at the church will be from 10am to 11am prior to the Mass.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of John, Sr., and Dorothy (Tobin) Conroy, Dennis graduated from St. Mary of the Mount High School. He had also lived in Vorhees, NJ, and York, PA before moving to Columbia 25 years ago. A graduate of Duquesne University, Dennis worked in Public Relations for the Social Security Administration. More recently, Dennis was a freelance sportswriter where he reviewed college and high school basketball. He was an avid reader, history buff, and a big sports fan for all the Pittsburgh teams. He will be fondly remembered by his family as “Uncle Denny”.
Dennis is survived by his sister-in-law, Antonia Conroy, his nephews Sean Conroy and James Conroy and his niece, Elizabeth Conroy, as well as many loving relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his parents and his brother John Conroy, Jr..
