Domenico Niro, of East Hanover, NJ, passed away at his home on December 24, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones. He was 83.
He was born in Lucera, Italy in 1941, served in the military and eventually immigrated to America in 1967, settling in Orange, NJ. He then moved to Parsippany, NJ before eventually moving to East Hanover, NJ.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Maria Niro; his three children, Maria Ninetta Niro, Giuseppi Niro and his wife Lucia, and Lucia De Decker; and his grandchildren Krystle McCarron and Ella De Decker. He is also survived by his siblings Michele Niro, Mario Niro and his wife Asunda and Maria Niro. He was predeceased by his mother Lucia Niro and sisters Anna and Angela Niro.
Before his passing, Domenico owned and operated his own landscaping company for over 50 years. He was a member of The Landscaping Association, Knights of Columbus and Maria SS Incoronata.
He enjoyed family parties, homemade Italian cooking and wine. He also enjoyed spending his summers at his home in Alberona, Italy with his wife and visiting with his family and friends, as well as taking trips to Wildwood, NJ.
Domenico will be forever remembered by his unwavering work ethic, unbelievable patience and understanding, calming effect when he spoke, and his incredible sense of humor.
