Donald W. Smith, of Whippany, NJ passed away on Wednesday January 19, 2022. He was 85.
Donald was born on August 5, 1936 in Morristown, NJ. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Stanley, Sr. and Mary (nee Sisco) Smith. Donald was a graduate from Morristown High School, Morristown, NJ. He served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Whippany Fire Department and fire chief in 1970. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #0155 Whippany, NJ.
Donald worked for Exxon for over 45 years delivering oil and gas to gas stations.
Donald had a strong work ethic and loved spending time outdoors & helping his family, neighbors and friends.
Donald is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Patricia Smith (Leana); his son William Drake and his wife Carolyn of Rockaway, NJ; daughter Annamarie Palk and her husband Jeffrey Palk of Whippany, NJ; brother George Smith of Whippany, NJ; sister-in-law Eileen Smith of Cedar Knolls, NJ; nephew Billy Smith of Cedar Knolls, NJ. He was affectionately known as Pop Pop to his six cherished grandchildren, Danielle, William, Nicole, Lisa, Morgan and Connor and great granddaughter Julianna.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Stanley, Jr., Joe and nephew Stash III.
