Dorothy J. Scherer (nee Windrow), of Union, NJ, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2015. She was 83
years old.
Born in Newark, NJ, Dorothy spent most of her life in Union, NJ. She married her husband, the Late
Robert P. Scherer, in 1982 and the two were married for 7 years before Robert’s passing in 1989.
Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper at various automotive dealers in Union County before retiring in 1996.
An active member of the Calvary Tabernacle Church in Cranford, NJ, Dorothy enjoyed traveling and
will be remembered for her tireless spirit helping others and her volunteer work.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, the Late Robert P. Scherer, her brother, the late Alfred Windrow, and her sister, the Late Helen J.
Leonard. She is survived by her son, Donald G. Branten of Greensburg, PA; nephew, Bruce Leonard of
New Providence, NJ; Nephew Craig Leonard of Hamburg, NJ; stepdaughters, Patricia Dulny of Toms River, NJ; and Suzanne Azzaro of Marlton; and many loving friends and neighbors.
Family and friends are invited to a Visitation for Dorothy on Friday, February 13, 2015 from 2-4pm & 7-
9pm at the Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Avenue in Union, NJ. A Funeral Service
will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 10am. Interment will follow at
Hollywood Memorial Park in Union. Contributions in Dorothy’s memory may be made to the Harvest
