Dr. Arthur W. Silver
08/04/1956 - 12/25/2023

It is with profound sadness that the Silver family announces the untimely passing of their beloved brother, father and uncle Dr. Arthur William Silver, age 67 of Newfoundland, NJ.

Arthur was found in his bed on Christmas day 2023, where he had experienced a fatal heart attack. The family believes that he passed on peacefully in slumber to his Heavenly home.

Arthur was born on August 4th, 1956 in Glen Ridge, New Jersey to Catherine Marie Lonsdorf and Arthur Weil Silver. He graduated from Life Chiropractic College in Marietta, GA in 1981, and held a successful practice where he used his “healing hands” to restore and promote the health and vitality of the individuals in his community. Art’s natural healing ability was matched by his musical prowess; as a singer, guitarist, pianist, and prolific composer and songwriter, he performed in bands and small ensembles, most notably his band “Breeze,” which he co-founded in high school in the ‘70s. Art was also an intellectual, with a depth of thought and a curiosity which fueled his pursuit of truth and served to enlighten and inspire those around him. He was spiritually aware, and was active in a number of local churches, often acting as a music director and music minister. A joyous person, “Arty’s” humor, kindness and loving energy warmed the hearts of everyone he touched, especially those of his family and friends, with whom he shared an endless love and devotion. His loved ones are infinitely grateful and blessed to have had him in their lives.

Arthur is survived by his daughter: Angelica Melody Silver, Pompton Lakes, NJ; his step-children: Roseanne Avizzano, Pompton Lakes, NJ and Joshua Santolocci, Pompton Lakes, NJ; and his four sisters: Christine Garcia, Parsippany, NJ; Dr. Catherine Silver-Riddell, Winchester, VA; Elaine Silver, Sarasota, FL; and Dr. Gretchen Silver, Martinsburg, WV. He is further survived by his two nieces: Amanda Gillies, Portland, OR and Elizabeth Riddell, Winchester, VA; and his nephew: Christian Riddell, Martinsburg, WV; as well as three great-nieces and one great-nephew.

A viewing will take place on Saturday, January 13th from noon to 4 P.M. at Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Road, Whippany, NJ.
