Dr. Nag to his colleagues, Atte Mama to family and “Tat” or “Tatha” to his grandkids, Dr. T.L Nagabhushan a long time resident of Parsippany, NJ, passed away peacefully at Morristown Memorial Hospital, NJ on May 17th, 2023.

Born and raised in Karnataka, India on April 23rd, 1935, Dr. Nag finished his undergraduate studies in Science from Mysore University in 1955.  In 1958 he arrived in Munich, Germany to pursue his advanced degree in Chemistry at the University of Munich. After Completing his education in Germany, he enrolled at the University of Alberta in 1962 to work on his Ph.D. in Chemistry. In 1973 he moved to NJ to start his illustrious career with Schering Plough Corporation. While there, he was instrumental in bringing Interferon Alpha to the market as a treatment for Hep-C and certain cancers. He retired in 2000 as President and CEO of DNAX and Senior Vice President of Schering Plough.

Dr. Nag was an avid golfer, musician, recreational pilot and a gourmet cook. He introduced the family to his signature dish, “Yogurt Pasta” which his grandkids enjoyed!

Mama as he was lovingly called by his family, was a loving husband, doting grandfather and widely admired by all.

Dr. Nag is survived by his wife Dr. Nagamani, sons Ranga and Raghu, daughters-in law Smitha and Vidya, grandchildren Deepika, Ankitha, Srikar and extended family both in the US and India.
