Edward Alan Burns

Edward Alan Burns, age 69, passed away on October 14, 2021 at his home in Galloway Township, N.J.  He was born January 14, 1952 in Elizabeth, N.J. Ed graduated from Roselle Catholic High School and attended Oglethorpe University, Georgia. When Gaming came to Atlantic City, Ed became a croupier and was one of the original dealers at Resorts International Casino on Opening Day May 26, 1978. Later he worked at various casinos, including the Tropicana, Playboy, and Trump Plaza, where he was a floor man and on occasion went undercover to identify card counters with an advantage over the house until his retirement in 2014.  Ed was an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed playing tennis and sailing his HobieCat off Brigantine Beach where he lived for a time.

Edward is predeceased by his brother, John “Jack” and sister, Barbara Ann “Bobbie” Burns. He is survived by his sisters Cathy Hamara and Nancy DuBeau, three nieces Claire Hamara, Catie Fedorenko and Lauren DuBeau and grandniece and nephew, Amora and Zarian DuBeau.
