Eleanor Ploran Jones, 84, a lifelong resident of Irvington, NJ, passed away peacefully at Inglemoor Nursing Home, Livingston, NJ on December 5, 2011.
Having studied at Julliard School of Music, Eleanor had a piano studio in Irvington, where she taught for over 50 years. She was also an accompanist, theorist, organist and coach. She devoted a great deal of her time to the National Guild of Piano Teachers, USA, and was a member of many other state educational associations. Eleanor dedicated over 50 years as organist – choir director of St Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church in Newark, and later Grace Lutheran Church in Union.
Eleanor was the beloved wife of the late Donald L. Jones, and is survived by a cousin Patricia Bethka, and sisters in law Ernestine MacArthur and Darlene Roth.
