Elizabeth Varga

Elizabeth Varga, 96, of Union, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2012. Born and raised in Newark, Elizabeth lived in Union for 65 years before more recently moving to Westfield.


Known as the “Queen of Linens”, Elizabeth was an antiques and linens dealer. She also enjoyed needlework, crocheting, and playing bingo and poker. She was active with the American Cancer Society as a volunteer, the PTA, Bingo Club of Union, and the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. She also worked at the Union Public Library for many years.


Predeceased by her husband Edward G. Varga, Sr., Elizabeth is survived by her loving sons Edward G. Varga Jr., and his wife Roberta J., and Richard J. Varga and his wife Patricia M; beloved grandchildren Diane Silvester, Denise Varga, Joanne Lauder and Richard Varga. GG will also be missed by her cherished great grandchildren, Angelina Silvester, Elyse Varga and John Varga.
