Ellen Schroeder (nee: Kane), 88, of Florham Park, formerly of Brick and Irvington, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at her daughter’s home. Born and raised in Newark, Ellen lived in Irvington before moving to Brick in 1991. She has lived in Florham Park for the last 3 years. She worked for NJ Transit in Maplewood for 18 years, retiring in 1987. Ellen treasured her family and enjoyed her family outings.
Predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 ½ years, Charles A. Schroeder; son Paul J. Schroeder; daughter Dianne E. Stier; brothers John and Edward Kane and sister Patricia Beach; Ellen is survived by her daughter Carolyn Schroeder of Florham Park; sister Bernadette Powers of Waretown; grandchildren Paul J. Schroeder, Gail Schroeder, Brianna Stier and Brian Stier; great grandchildren Ashley, Christopher, Maxwell, Dean, and Duke Snowden, and Andrew Schroeder, as well as many precious nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 29, 2014 at 9:30am at Holy Spirit Church, 971 Suburban Rd., Union. Interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. There will be a visitation on Sunday from 4-8pm at the Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave., Union.
