Emilian Berdej

Emilian Berdej (Milko) of Newton NJ passed away at home peacefully, Friday afternoon on May 19, 2023, at the age of 93. Born in Nowosiolki, Poland. He moved to the US in 1979. He was predeceased by his wife Daria with whom he was married for 63 years. He worked at Wm Steinen Mfg. in Parsippany NJ for over twenty years before retiring from Rockaway NJ to Bethlehem PA. Milko had a passion for fixing things. A car mechanic by trade, he built his first car in 1969 by purchasing all the parts separately.  Validation of the job well done was Milko and Daria’s trip to Ukraine from Slupsk by the Baltic Sea, where they lived for 20 years.  In his younger days he enjoyed fishing and taking the family to famous vacations spots.  He liked dancing and spending time with family. He is survived by his daughter Julia Berdej, fiancé Rob, her daughter Marta, husband Eddie and great-grandchildren Gianna, Jayden, and Isaiah, and Emilia and husband Joe, great-grandson Marco, daughter Miroslawa Jaroszak, husband Richard, children Dianna and Alex, and son Darius B. Berdej, wife Bozena and children Claudia and Darius.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 4 pm to 8 pm with Parastas at 6 pm at the Bradley Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Rd. Whippany, NJ. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 10 am at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 60 N. Jefferson Rd. Whippany, NJ.
