Ernestina Lugo Meneses “Tina”

Tina falleció el 3 de Enero del 2021, en el hospital Robert Wood Johnson, New Brunswick, a los 75 años.

Tina nació el 12 de Mayo de 1945, hija de Pedro Meneses y Marciana Olivares. Hermana de Julia, Felicita, Sara, Georgina, Pedro, Carmen, Hector y Ruth Meneses. Madre de Jorge y Fabiola Aranguena, tía querida y fiel amiga.  Mujer creyente y de gran fe, bautizada en la religión Adventista del Séptimo Dia.  Su versículo favorito fue el Salmo 23 y su himno “Más allá del sol” y “En Cristo hallo amigo”.

Terminó sus estudios secundarios en el centro educativo GUE Maria Parado De Bellido en el año 1961.  Completó sus estudios superiores en la universidad Federico Villarreal y obtuvo el grado de licenciatura como docente en lengua y literatura.

En 1975 fue Promotora y Directora del centro educativo San Andrés con tres niveles académicos (Inicial, primaria y secundaria).

Debido a la situación económica y política que atravesó el país en los años 80 ‘s decidió emigrar al extranjero con la ayuda de sus hermanos, en busca de un mejor futuro.

LLegó a los Estados unidos en el año 1993 y después de muchos años de arduo trabajo logró certificarse como asistente de salud en el hogar (Home health aide) y a la misma vez convalidó sus estudios de docencia y adquirió una posición como asistente de maestro de educación especial en New Jersey Board of Education, la cual se dedicó hasta su partida.

Tina fue una mujer de muchas aficiones, amante de la poesía, la lectura, la música, el canto y la zarzuela, también le encantaba pintar, y durante la pandemia desarrolló su pasión por la jardinería.

Vivió una vida plena y llena de amor junto a sus queridos hijos, logró formar una carrera y construir un centro educativo en su natal Perú.

Más allá de cualquiera de sus logros, lo más resaltante de su hermosa personalidad fue su generosidad y bondad y constante atención hacia los seres que amaba.

Te queremos y te echaremos de menos.  Gracias por haber tocado nuestros corazones.

Tina passed away on January 3, 2021, at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, New Brunswick, at the age of 75.

Tina was born on May 12, 1945, daughter of Pedro Meneses and Marciana Olivares. Sister of Julia, Felicita, Sara, Georgina, Pedro, Carmen, Hector and Ruth Meneses. Mother of Jorge and Fabiola Aranguena, dear aunt and loyal friend. A woman of belief and great faith, baptized in the Seventh-day Adventist religion. Her favorite verse was Psalm 23 and her favorite hymn “Beyond the sun” and “In Christ I find a friend.”

She finished high school at the GUE Maria Parado De Bellido educational center in 1961. Completed her Master’s degree as a teacher in Language and Literature at the Federico Villarreal University.

In 1975 she was the Promoter and Director of the San Andrés educational center with three academic levels (kindergarten, elementary and high school).

Due to the economic and political situation that the country went through in the 80’s, she decided to emigrate abroad with the help of her brothers, in search of a better future.

She came to the United States in 1993 and after many years of hard work, she was certified as a Home Health Aide and at the same time validated her teaching studies and acquired a position as an assistant teacher of special education with the New Jersey Board of Education, which she dedicated until her departure.

Tina was a woman of many passions, a lover of poetry, reading, music, singing and zarzuela, she also loved to paint, and during the pandemic she developed her passion for gardening.

She lived a complete and loving life with her beloved children, managed to form a career and build an educational center in her native Peru.

Beyond any of her achievements and hobbies, the most striking feature of her beautiful soul was her generosity, kindness and attentiveness to the ones she loved.

We love you and we will miss you. Thank you for having touched our hearts.

Her wake will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021, from 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm at the Bradley & Sons Funeral Homes wake, Springfield, NJ
