Ewhenia “Jean” Markus, (nee Stuj), 86, passed peacefully on November 23, 2022 with all three of her children at her side. Born in Ternopil, Ukraine, Ewhenia lived in NJ all of her life spending the past 37 years in Cedar Knolls, NJ. She worked in the label room at Novartis Pharmaceuticals in East Hanover, NJ from where she retired. Ewhenia was a parishioner and a member of the prayer group at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Whippany, NJ where she volunteered making pyrohy and baked goods for church functions. She also enjoyed baking, reading, and gardening in her spare time.
Ewhenia is pre-deceased by her parents, Mychajlo and Olimpia Korolewych Stuj, and her husband Walter Markus. She is survived by her three children, daughters Christine (husband Ron) Ukleya, Ewhenia “Jeannie” Marie Markus and her son Roman Markus. She is the grandmother of Tyler Ukleya, Michael and Danielle Markus.
Visiting hours, Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 2-4 & 7-9 with Parastas at 3 pm at Bradley Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Rd. Whippany, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 10 am at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 60 N. Jefferson Rd. Whippany, NJ with the interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
