Fernand Petit-Frere, born on May 30, 1942, in Terre-Neuve, Haiti, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024, in Union, New Jersey. He was 82 years old.
Fernand was a devoted family man who cherished his loved ones deeply. He is survived by his daughter, Kim Petit-Frere Coston; his brother, Jean Petit-Frere; and his sister, Marie Suzette Lunique. Fernand was also a loving uncle to Prince Petit-Frere, Roy Petit-Frere, Queenie Petit-Frere, Leclerc Lunique, Emmanuel Lunique, and Marie-Line Petit-Frere. His close bond with his siblings was evident in their weekly conversations that brought them great joy and connection.
Fernand dedicated nearly three decades of his life to his work at Scientific Packaging in East Orange, New Jersey. From 1977 until his retirement in 2005, he worked as a machine operator and took pride in his contributions to the company. Though the company relocated to Texas after his retirement, Fernand remained rooted in New Jersey, where he continued to enjoy the company of family and friends.
Fernand’s warmth and love for those around him left an indelible mark on all who knew him. His memory will be cherished by his family and friends as they reflect on the many moments of joy and connection they shared with him.
