~~Florence S. Schreitmueller, 90, formerly of Whippany passed away on September 12, 2017. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, Whippany Rd in Whippany on Monday, September 18th at 10am. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit at Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Rd in Whippany on Sunday from 3 to 7pm. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, the daughter of Charles and Mary Schaefer, Florence was raised in Union. Residing in Whippany from 1952 to 1990 she spent many years after retirement in Palm Coast, FL until returning to Cedar Crest Village in Pompton Plains in 2005. In her early years, Florence was a Barbizon model until taking time to raise her family. She was later employed by Hanover Township Schools, first as the school secretary at the Salem Drive School and later as the secretary to the superintendent of the district. Florence was a longtime parishioner at Our Lady of Mercy where she was a member of the Rosary Society and did volunteer work in both New Jersey and Florida. She enjoyed golf, singing, bridge and travel.
Florence was the beloved wife of 44 years to the late Robert. She was the loving mother of Randy and his wife Mary and Roberta Foster and her husband Allen. She is also survived by her cherished granddaughters, Katherine and Marthe Schreitmueller. In lieu of flowers donations in Florence’s memory may be made to your favorite charity.
