Frances Sophie Dlugosz, 102, died peacefully at home in Springfield, New Jersey, on October 1, 2021.
Frances was born In Newark, New Jersey on February 7. 1919, to Jan and Aniela Ziomek. After graduating from East Side High School in 1937, she worked as a beautician. She married John S. Dlugosz in 1942. They had four children and resided In Irvington, New Jersey and later retired to Manchester, New Jersey.
Frances was a happy homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved gardening, reading, and was an active volunteer in her church and community. She was a member of the Rosary Altar Society and a Columbiette in Irvington. She is survived by her daughter, Eileen (Richard) Raj, daughter-in-law Jan Dlugosz, six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. She Is predeceased by her husband, John S. Dlugosz, daughters, Carolyn Hart and Maryann Yurecko, and son, John M. Dlugosz.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 am at the Bradley, Smith and Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave, Springfield, New Jersey, thence to Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Irvington, N.J., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J.
