~~Frank W. Burans, 94, of Absecon (formerly of Chatham), passed away at his home on November 1st. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church, 85 Washington Ave, Chatham on Monday, November 10th at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Fair Mount Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit at Wm. A. Bradley & Son, 345 Main St, Chatham on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm.
Born in Millville, NJ and raised in Hoboken (where he rode the bus with Frank Sinatra) Frank lived in Chatham for 28 years before moving to Absecon in 1988. He received his undergraduate and pharmacy degrees from Rutgers University and his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Frank served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a chemist and manager of manufacturing at Ciba-Geigy in Summit where he received the Special Ciba-Geigy Award in 1982. Frank retired in 1988 after 33 years of service. He will be fondly remembered for his work ethic, his kindness, his sense of humor (he loved to play practical jokes on his friends and colleagues) and his love and devotion to his family.
Frank was the beloved husband of Imelda. He was the loving father of James P. Burans and his wife Amy, Cecilia M. Scarinzi and the late Francis Anthony Burans, stepsons Mauricio and Armando Prieto, cherished grandfather of Courtney and Tayler Fitch, Christopher Burans, Elizabeth Burans and Andrew Burans. He is also survived by friends, Joe and Maryann Deangelis, Doreen Burke and Marion Prager Aubrecht. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
