Freddy Valdez, 66, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2013 with his family by his side.
Born in Lima, Peru, Freddy has lived in Hillside, NJ for many years. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Freddy pursued numerous careers since his arrival to the United States, his most recent being a courier/driver out of Carlstadt, NJ as he loved driving.
Freddy was an outspoken person who loved showing others how to tackle and complete a variety of tasks. Freddy was very humorous and was known for his contagious laugh.
He is survived by his son Christian Valdez and wife Melissa of Hamilton, NJ and his daughter Evelyn Valdez of Alexandria, VA, and two brothers Erwin Valdez and wife Dania of Cumming, GA and Luis Valdez of Atlanta, GA.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 6 pm at the Bradley Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave, Union, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in Freddy’s name may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Ave, Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA, 90266-3721.
