Gary A. Prince, Sr. (“Micky”) passed away on August 21, 2020 at the age of 78. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna, of 56 years; son, Gary A. Prince, Jr., and his wife, Robin; daughter, Heather Murphy, and her husband, Thomas; and grandchildren, Paige, Payton, Gary, III, Holly and Jennifer to whom he was known as “Poppy.”
Micky and Donna grew up in Springfield, New Jersey and they were childhood sweethearts. He married Donna at the age of 21. Micky owned and operated Mrs. Prince’s Stand (Prince Farms) in Springfield where he and Donna raised their family. Their marriage was an inspiration to many people. Micky devoted his life to his family. He loved farming, in fact, he was working and growing vegetables for his daughter’s business just two weeks prior to his passing. His life was a testament to hard work. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather, who always supported his family’s goals and was proud of their accomplishments. Micky was a “salt of the earth man” who was liked by many who will greatly miss him.
Throughout the years he was active with Samaritan Outreach Services which is operated by Abundant Life Church in Springfield, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Abundant Life Church, 35 Fadem Road, Springfield, NJ 07081 (www.alwcspringfield.com or www.sos-nj.org). A private family funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2020. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, there will not be any calling hours at the funeral home. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday, August 29th at the family home.
