Gladys Healey Meyer, 95, of Whippany, NJ passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Slate Belt Nursing Home, Bangor, PA.
Gladys was born on October 28, 1921 in Oldham, England. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernest and Sarah (nee Murray) Healey.
She was a graduate of Kearny High School, Kearny, NJ. She worked for Prudential Insurance in Newark for 10 years. She was a quiet woman who enjoyed her home, her family and the Yankees.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Thomas Xavier Meyer. She was the loving mother of daughter, Ellen Weisenstein and husband Paul of Hackettstown, NJ, son, Thomas Meyer of Mt. Bethel, PA and daughter, Patricia DeWitt and husband Douglas of Bloomingdale, NJ. She was the cherished grandmother of Brian, Emily and Eric Weisenstein. In addition, she is survived by her sister, Genevieve Ryan of Wilmington, DE and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, Whippany, NJ. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ. In her memory, donations can be directed to Our Lady of Mercy Church, Whippany, NJ.
