Gladys I. Diehl, 86, of Union, NJ passed away on February 21, 2024. Visiting hours at Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave in Union will be on Sunday, February 25th from 4 to 8pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 1212 Kelly St. in Union on Monday, February 26th at 10:15am. Interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park.
Born in Schenectady, NY, the daughter of Conrad and Gertrude (Bergbold) Hammann, Gladys was raised in Colonie, NY. She had also lived in Irvington and Union for many years before moving to Holmdel to be near her children. Gladys worked in retail sales at several local stores including Rickels, Two Guys, and Bob’ Store in Springfield. A longtime parishioner at St. Michaels’s she enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Gladys was the beloved wife of the late Richard Diehl. She was the loving mother of Colleen Deglman (Kenneth), Eileen Diehl, Doreen Diehl, and Kevin Diehl (Natalie). She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Brianna Deglman, Kenneth R. Deglman, Christian Diehl, and Elena Diehl as well as many loving relatives and friends.
