07/11/1956 - 08/27/2023

Glenn William Shoudy of Succasunna, New Jersey passed away peacefully at home on August 27,2023, surrounded by his family.

Glenn grew up in Hanover Township, along with his siblings and his lifelong friends, all throughout their school years. Glenn went on to graduate from the County College of Morris, where he earned his degree in Criminal Justice. He pursued his dream of becoming a police officer, first with the Morris County Park Police, and then moving on to the East Hanover Police Department, where he climbed through the ranks. Glenn retired as the Captain of the East Hanover Police department in 2011 after 34 years of service. He was also the department’s firearms instructor.

Glenn was one of the founding members of the Morris County Police Pipes and Drums. He loved playing the bagpipes in the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade in Morristown, NJ., and other parades throughout the state.

Glenn loved being with his family, spending many summers with them at the family’s beach house in Ocean City, NJ. He spent many hours on the beach and boardwalk, making sure each time he got his favorite Kohr’s ice cream, he loved to ride the waves, rode the boardwalk rides with his sons, and as his grandchildren Travis and Elizabeth grew up, he rode the rides with them also.

He is survived by his wife Judy, his son Michael (Tanya), his son Spenser, and his grandchildren Travis and Elizabeth, who adored their “Pop-Pop.”

His siblings sister Diane Fund (Jeff), sister Drusilla Gaffney (Don), and his brother David Shoudy (Elaine), and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents G. William and Barbara Shoudy, and his Aunt Jane Shoudy.
