Gwendolyn D. O’Rielly, 78, of Newton, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Newton Memorial Hospital.
Gwendolyn was born on June 17, 1941 in Jersey City, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael and Clementine (nee Kulinski) Shelton.
She resided in Bayonne before settling in Newton, NJ for the past 15 years. Gwendolyn worked as a grammar school teacher for the Bayonne School District for many years. She was an animal lover and adored her cat, Chloe.
Gwendolyn is survived by her husband of 49 years, Bernard O’Rielly and was the loving mother of daughters; Jennifer O’Rielly and Kerri Murphy and husband Brian. She was the cherished grandmother of Michael Hill, Shaelin, Kiera and Owen Murphy. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lisa Vogel and sister, Michelle Shelton.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm with a prayer service at noon at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Chatham, NJ 07928. An interment will follow at Fair Mount Cemetery, Chatham, NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Father Johns Animal House, 50 Father Johns Ln, Lafayette Township, NJ 07848.
